Traveling to some of the more remote parts of the world can be a life changing experience, filled with many happy memories. Be prepared to be captivated, amazed and at the same time very much at welcome and at home. Ghanaian hospitality is well established, and Jordan Nu is well prepared. A guest house is available that can accommodate up to 14 people, and the people of the village will make sure your stay is comfortable. Location Jordan Nu is located on the Kpando Road. You can reach us by tro-tro or ride a bike on the scenic trail from Tafi Atome, the monkey sanctuary. You can Take a Kpando car from Ho or Accra and asked to be dropped at Jordan Nu. History The People of Jordan Nu migrated here 25 years ago to establish a medicinal healing center. They chose this area because of the vast farm land. The people here make most of there income from farming cassava, yam, tomatoes, okra and garden eggs. A small population fish in the river. People come all over the Volta Region to get spiritually healed through medicinal plants. Drumming Drum and dance is still a strong part of Ewe culture. This area in the Volta region is known for the Borborbor rhythm, which was established in the Kpando district for the Ghanaian independence in 1957. Most of the residents have been drumming since childhood. | ||

Things to consider for your trip. Travel documents. A visa is required for most countries. The process is generally that you mail your passport to the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington DC with a form you download from their web site. It should be returned in about a week. Health. If you have not been to the more remote parts of the world for a few years, you may need some vaccinations. These can run into hundreds of dollars, so budget for that. Some medications such as some anti-malaria, must be every day and even after you return. It is a good idea to be familiar this page: CDC on travel to W. Africa Notification.
