Christmas Day

Sermon on Christmas Day with the decorations

Christmas in Jordan Nu naturally starts with church service. Theere was much greeting and socializing. Gift giving doesn't seem as important as visiting and good meals. Kids play with fireworks, but only very occasionally.

Choir and other members

Christmas in Ghana is obviously different than in the states. Occasionally I heard classic Christmas music in the the market areas. On Christmas Eve the church was decorated with lights, small plastic trees and decorations streched across the church.

Gifts for the orphans

The orphans had another wonderful performance for us. One of the projects we are working on is a web page with information on some of the orphans and whatever assistance they are in need of. Pictures of them are here. After the performance it was time to give out things from the states for them, including t-shirts donated by NW Folklife.
