George showed us the progress on the library. The blocks are formed, but more are being made. The foundation should be started in a couple weeks, and George thinks part of the walls will be completed before I leave. The Library project is a project initiated by Marilyn, another member of our 2002 trip with Bill Matthews.

Yes, Salihou is wearing a Northwest Folklife T-shirt. Folklife was kind enough to donate a box of t-shirts, for the orphans in Jordan Nu. Pictures of some of the orphans are here

The library will be built using the very common pillar and block style. A foundation is laid and a slab floor. Then forms are erected for poured concrete pillars. For multi floor buildings, another slab floor would be formed above that for each level. Concrete blocks are made, and the spaces between the pillars are filled in with the blocks. Electrical conduit is put in after by chiseling out grooves in the blocks. Then a wood frame roof is added with courigated galvanized steel sheet.

Meeting with the second pastor. Camera battery low, so I ran back, and cut my finger on the gate latch of the porch.

Greeting the second pastor.
