12/15

Today Gameli would like his hair cut. So, we drop him off, not far from Anacraba market. Salihou and I walk through the market through some vary tight passages.

We end up at Odas Business Center for some more Internet work. Salihou sets up his Linux computer and we start working on the name server when we can sit together. The power went out again but this time the huge UPS they have kicked in ok. The network stops though. With all the uploading and emailing, we're running a bit late. On the way to the university we stop at Spacefon to see about Internet possibilities for Jordan Nu. Then lunch at the cafe at the university, and a call to Kumasi where we will travel to next week.

Then we run back down to the beach park for drum lessons. Kofi is away, so I have lessons with Afuta, another member of the group. Appiah is the creative director. We work on a couple different rhythms, intros and breaks while Gameli took some pictures.

While I was busy with lessons, Gameli took a stroll with the camera.

Then back to Salihou's house. Hawa was not yet ready with dinner, so Gameli and I went to the hotel to freshen up. Several of the staff were working on the air conditioner, and just finishing up.

Dinner at Salihou's

Hawa had yam and beef soup for us, (and some Herb Afrik gin). Shabazz provided entertainment. He is not yet two, but he is a pretty smart little boy. He had to take medicine from 3 bottles, and he insists on bringing them all out himself. Daddy measures them and Shabazz drinks it down with cheers from us :-)

Back at the hotel, Gameli and I watch the end of an African film on TV. Something about a couple of kids from Angola who's parents were killed in massacres there when government forces were fighting another group (Uni something or other).
