This was going to be a sad day for most of us. Only hours until we must leave for the airport. Last moments to talk to people we've gotten to know, and will not see for a long time.
Four guys from football team came to thank Bill Matthews for his gift of a soccer ball. They presented him with a carved gazelle with very long thin legs. One guy had a bandaged foot and had only a bamboo pole to use as a crutch which looked very uncomfortable to use.
Our departure time was 9:20pm from Kotoka Airport, Accra. George, Kofi and Emmanuel drove us, and waited till we were all checked in and at the gate. I still had a pretty good wad of Cedis, so I went looking for the forex. A guard lead me all the way, and helped me count it out. In exchange I got my $24.
